We engage women through sports and culture
Girl Talks Sports is a Black woman-led media brand redefining sports culture. We are a welcoming community where women from diverse backgrounds engage digitally and in-person on topics in and around sports. Our community includes both casual and avid fans, and we don’t measure sports fandom by the stats you know or the number of games you watch. Instead, we connect with our community by telling stories and creating content that ranges from empowering moments in women’s sports to breaking down Angel Reese’s and Taylor Swift’s Chanel game day fit.
Our stories are often inspired by the WNBA, NBA, NFL, college sports, women’s sports, and new leagues like Unrivaled Women’s Basketball.
Girl Talks Sports was founded by Latoya Williamson, a sports fan and experienced startup operator. She brings her background as a tech executive, along with roles in healthcare, corporate communications, public relations, and business development, to the Girl Talks Sports community. Latoya started Girl Talks Sports because of her own experience of feeling left out of traditional sports culture.
